Day 7: Anna Paulowna to Exmorra via Afsluitdijk

‎I'm posting yesterday's entry a day late because, Greg, Cacia and I had an epic (4h!) monopoly game last night! It was the most perfect game of monopoly I have ever played, and we played it to the end. It may have been today when we finished, but I stopped checking the time... sometimes it's better not to know. We were all winners at different points of the game, but Greg was the winner at the end.

We were so lucky with the weather yesterday... a strong SW wind, no rain, meant we flew across the Afsluitdijk at 25-30 kph without effort.

And then we had to bike across the wind for 5 km. That was really hard, even with a dike to protect from the worst of the wind.

Last night all 6 of us got to stay in one house ‎together, with two showers, and a sitting and kitchen area. Luckily our host emailed us that there are no stores or restaurants in Exmorra, so we picked up groceries in Makkum on the way, and enjoyed dinner together in our house. We also picnicked in Den Oever, just before getting on the Afsluitdijk, so we finally made my goal of picnicking more.

‎Today will be a short day in distance to Lemmer, but we will be fighting the wind and probably rain, on the way. I hope we will have time and energy for a small side trip to Sloten on the way. I know exactly what cafe I would like to visit there!
