Day 2

We had great day today!
We had a slow morning, even Kris slept in this morning! We had a dutch/american breakfast together at the table with the food we bought yesterday.
After packing up our bikes we headed out on today's adventures. First stop: Scheveningen, to visit the bike store that is renting the bikes to us, so we could get some minor bike repairs‎, and a rain poncho for Anna (still no bags!); and, fish for lunch. Second stop: Peace Palace, we could tour it, but we enjoyed the visitor center, peace message tree, and eternal peace flame. Third stop: Den Haag for coffee, hot chocolate, krokette, appeltart, and cheese cake; and, the Binnenhof. Fourth stop: the house my Dad grew up in. Fifth stop: the house my Mom grew up in; and we met the current 40y residents (but they had not heard of the Rhijnsburgers, who had lived there in 1930-70'?).

Navigating was not easy. The weather was 19C and a lot of "wet air". But everyone did really well navigating (Cacia is a star at navigating), watching for bike and car traffic, and not complaining (especially Anna, who has still no luggage, so is wearing borrowed clothing, and a rain cape)!

Luggage update: it arrived in AMS tonight, and should be delivered tomorrow morning, fingers crossed!!

Tomorrow's goals: sleep in, get luggage, do laundry, eat well, visit Delft, pack for the "tour" and go to bed early!!
